Steps for replacing a three-way catalyst carrier:
1. Make a semi-circular cut in the housing (a semi-circular cut is preferred over a full cut to minimize positioning errors after welding);
2. Remove the old filter element and replace it with a new, customized honeycomb carrier;
3. Press and spot-weld the filter. Once secured, remove the filter and weld it. Done. The operation is both simple and difficult. The key is to ensure the filter element is securely fixed. Otherwise, it can become loose after a short while, causing a rattling noise while driving, which can ruin the driving experience.
We can choose a familiar repair shop to replace the filter element ourselves, or we can find a professional filter replacement service. Compared to replacing a new ternary assembly, replacing the filter element can save a lot of money and is a good choice, give it a thumbs up!
